Interactive Entertainment & Video Games

Representing companies and individuals who work in or conduct business with companies in the entertainment software and video game industry comprises our largest practice area. We have been representing leading licensors, publishers and developers of video and computer games and related technology licensing since the modern era of video games began in the mid-1980s with the introduction of the Nintendo Entertainment System through to the latest consoles, Sony’s PlayStation 4 and Microsoft’s Xbox One and the booming 21st Century mobile and table devices, in addition to personal computers, proprietary consoles and other virtual reality devices.

We currently represent over 40 clients in this practice area.  Our clients are at the cutting edge of the video game industry and at the forefront of the digital revolution, bringing video game entertainment to the desktop computer, mobile device and to home entertainment, as well as developing and licensing middleware technology used in designing, developing and operating online computer and video game products, including massively multiplayer online computer and video game products.

We have extensive experience in all aspects of developing and publishing video games for all platforms and devices, as well as the operations of companies doing business in the industry. We have represented numerous of our video game clients in the sale of their companies or a minority interest to companies such as Sony Computer Entertainment America, Microsoft Corporation, Warner Bros Interactive, Wargaming.net and Zynga, Inc.

Perhaps more than any other entertainment industry, doing business in the video game industry means doing business on a global scale, and we are regularly called upon to represent clients in dealings with their business partners throughout the world.  We have represented and continue to represent companies based in the United Kingdom, Ireland, throughout Europe, and in Finland, Israel, Canada, Japan, Australia and New Zealand who have retained us to represent their interests in the United States as well as US-based companies which conduct business around the world.  To assist us in these matters, we have developed relationships with leading law firms around the world.
